The cost of spending 3 weeks in Indonesia

A breakdown of what we spent during our 3 weeks in Indonesia.

We have travelled on and waved goodbye to Indonesia which means I once again will break out my notebook and calculator and try to give you a breakdown of our spending during the three weeks we spent in the country.

One thing to bear in mind is that our budget was blown when we decided to spend 4 nights in an all inclusive resort in Nusa Dua and so this is not a completely accurate budget for those who will be backpacking through the country. We definitely could have done Indonesia cheaper but occasionally decided to get taxis (metered) and spend a little bit more on food just to make the experience more enjoyable for us.

Item Cost (GBP) Notes
Accommodation 1044.79 This includes the 4 nights all inclusive which cost around £690
Flights 276.12 Flight into Yogyakarta and out of Lombok
Activities 179.85 Temples and Bromo tour with site fees, massages, yoga, cultural show
Food 108.36
Taxis 33.50
Local transport 4.70 public boat and airport bus
Fast boat from Bali to Gilis 60.00
Gifts and souvenirs 12.50
Departure tax 15.00
Total 1734.82
